Volcano

Kia ora bloggers. In lock down we had nothing to do so we pulled out an old science kit. The first thing  did was erupt a volcano. Here's how we did it.

What you need :

  • protective googles
  • protective gloves
  • red food colouring
  • sodium bicarbonate
  • citric acid
  • volcano mould
  • measuring cup
  • pipette
  • wooden spatula
  • teaspoon
  • plate

What you do

1. Put on protective gloves and googles.
2. Put the volcano mould on the plate
3 . Add half a teaspoon of citric acid and half a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate into the volcano mould and mix with the wooden spatula.
4.  Measure 15ml of water in the small measuring cup and use the pipette to add four drops of red food colouring.
5. Slowly pour the mixture inside the volcano and watch what happens!

Did you see what happened in the science experiment?

  1. Hi Dylan, That looks so fun to do! I think you should add a question next time for the conversation to be going. Great Job!
